CORE Match for Change Organization Participants

In CORE's 2014-15 Match for Change, six community benefit organizations, 18 consultants, and 20 volunteer Connectors had the opportunity to reflect on their strengths, opportunities for growth, and new ways of looking at their work as well as build an ever growing network of connections.
Each of the six organizations chose a consultant from those recommended through the match-making process and received a $500 grant to plan their capacity-building work together. Four of these organizations (*) then requested and received matching funding to support their work with their consultants.

Community GroundWorks*: Community GroundWorks connects individuals to urban agricultural and natural lands within a diverse learning community. We grow wholesome and organic food for local tables, steward urban natural areas, inspire healthful eating, and offer hands-on learning opportunities. By teaching what we practice, we pass on the skills to build enduring communities.

Mentoring Positives*: Based in the Darbo-Worthington neighborhood, Mentoring Positives’ mission is to mentor and support youths as they develop their gifts and talents.

Positive Women for Change (PW4C): Positive Women for Change (PW4C) is a one-on-one nonprofit coaching and peer counseling service. We serve clients with limited income whose life challenges have brought on difficult financial challenges. Our goal is to help clients support their households by combining their income with new skills and effective use of community resources.

Street Pulse: Street Pulse is Madison's homeless cooperative newspaper that works to identify and address homelessness and social issues by empowering the voices of those both marginalized and concerned. It provides direct, concrete avenues through which individuals can help by promoting communicating and awareness throughout the Madison community.
